Jesuism 2015

Interesting that Christian atheists redirects to a rather useful article on Jesuism.  When I was looking for a title for a thread on atheistic studies of Jesus in Jan 2007 "Jesuism" showed up on Google and other search engines only as an obscure Eastern Cult, and some obscure literary references.  Jesuit was already taken and Jesusism and Jesuanism weren't on target for what I was looking for.

I have since seen it on other blogs, and of course Wiki but it always refers to the sudy of Jesus as a human not a God.  At the time I was thinking about the Christian return to Jesus focusing on the Sermon on the Mount and the Two Great Commandments as an atheist movement in Christianity, but they made an end run around atheism by returning to the personal God of the Jews "Love the Lord Thy God ..."  in effect remaining theists, but repudiating all of John and Paul.  How they warped their minds around The Christ as Jesus remains a mystery to me, but somehow they still think of themselves as Christians focusing on the teachings of Jesus.

It doesn't matter to me as Jesus was the first radical humanist in the Judeo-Christian tradition, and "Thy God" viewed through the teachings of Jesus may eliminate most of the excesses of the Abrahamic monstrosity.

You are, of course, right about this. Though many would disagree with me on this, mainstream Christianity today enslaves minds by teaching a punishing god. I see too few Christians (progressive) that are pacifist. Early on in the development of Christianity, the unknown teacher's thoughts and teachings were directed toward god worship by people within the religious system. They replaced the reference to the "father" with "God the Father". Originally, the "father" meant all that came before us, which meant we didn't come from 'God' but the universe. The Nazarites didn't believe in God(s). This teacher understood the natural universe. He saw without eyes or ears (he said often, "For those without eyes or ears, you had better listen!" which means he saw into the 'invisible' workings of the universe like a theoretical physicist who uses modern-day tools such as mathematics and, even further, vortex mathematics. But, his understanding was so covered over and changed into something else (god worship) that today it is unrecognizable. Retrieving his original teachings are the hardest part. Retrieval hasn't happened yet, though many feel and know something is very, very wrong. So, the corrupted version is dying. Christianity is the fastest dying religion because of its lies. His teachings will have to be retrieved.

Thanks Christine. Nice background information on the Gospel Jesus. I am working on a post about Abram's tribal God and its effect on Western religions, but it will be a while. I will link it here when it is presentable. Not finished, this is a working blog.
